El Kher,
from Denmark, was the ultimate winner in the first
CEO POKER TOUR event at the Venetian-Resort-Hotel
Casino, July 2. He battled Ray Lau for the championship
and won. Lau and Kher battled into the evening the
second day of the final table. Both agressive players,
they used their chips as weapons and both were eager
to be named first day champion. Ultimately, Kher
went all in with an A (spade), 5 (hearts), and took
home the trophy and cash.. |

Michele
Mcleod takes 3rd place.
Mcleod from Weston, Florida was a force to contend
with at the final table. She registered with her
husband, who also played in the tournament and
supported her rise to the final table.
She
was the only woman that made it to the final table.
Her calm demeanor gave her the ability to convince
players that she was a fish, when all along she
was a shark. Mcleod 2nd place winnings: $15,561.

Jason
Peed takes 4th place.
Peed, from Topeka, KS, made it to the final
table even though he was short stacked a
few times. He was fearless. He managed to
double up and stay in the game, taking home
the 4th place title and $10,893.

Tay
Lau takes Scond Place. It
was a battle that any poker master would appreciate.
Lau took second place to claim $28.010 in price
money. Lau showed amazing endurance at the poker
table. When asked what he would do with his winnings,
he said, this is my bankroll for more tournaments.
He
has been playing poker in his home of Vancouver,
Canada, and is ready to play in the main event
for the ultimate cash and title.
